                                                            LITERACY
1. Little Red Book Homework in for Monday. Spelling results at the back. Check.
-Correct and well constructed sentences have ticks and house points.
-Spelling and grammar errors are underlined and should be corrected.
I do not want spelling mistakes.  Use dictionaries and reading book to ensure words are correctly spelt.
 2. Big emphasis on Reading Comprehension.
-Read different texts, find answers to multiple questions.
-Questions have clear answers in the text, but it will be important to develop skills to DEDUCT and INFERE some hidden meanings (read between the lines). Also: "Why did the writer use this word or words?" type of question.  Questions will be about the effect on the reader of particular words used by the author.

3  PET / Grammar Book
-42 units to be shared between Y5 and Y6 (21 + 21)
-School will test Grammar awareness.
